South Korea children's traffic accident rate is No.1 among OECD member of countries. 67% of accidents are occurring the starting point of the crosswalk. There are two main problems that I found. First, driver's carelessness of traffic signal. Second, children's dangerous behavior from the 2 minutes signal waiting time. As a solution, I suggest three design concepts for these problems.
The zebra crosswalk is a way of applying a graphical connection with a zoo in a children's park. This way allows to drivers to be aware of the changing environment in a particular area with a specific crosswalk pattern.
Two minutes' signal waiting time for children is too hard to endure without doing something. This Idea is to give them a safe task instead of a random task which can cause an accident.
Signal light can design from the children's perspective. This kiosk signal light has a clear task during waiting time to avoid children's random behavior.
After, I won the 1st Prize from Kia Motors CSR service Idea competition. They request me to create next year's competition poster design. I used letter CSR as a leading graphic element and illustrate the students who are doing research and experiment.
